The ever diminishing remains of Wood Farm, other side of Burrowcleave. What you see is prob only the remains of the back range. Old map shows the main farmhouse lower down the slope. Our favoured spot for our fantasy house !

This unusual , rare even, little ruin of a 2 storey building on the side of the A377 between the station and the Fox and Hounds is/was an office to deal with the local mail. The mail sacks went into a tiny sorting office on the upper level, directly below were stalls for 2 post horses. Sorted mail lowered down to the stalls and off the posties would trot. Fairly intact 30 years ago it is now collapsed inside. Shame it's not been preserved.Post

The gently collapsing Homeland bridge, along with the all but disappeared Rosepool bridge, it was once a main crossing point over the river.

Two of Michael Vicarey's empty cottages. On the road to the Lymington Arms. Hayne Farm is not the only local farm to have empty/derelict dwellings. Various theories. Repeated one being that old established local families didn't want 'strangers' living in them and didn't need the workers they once required. There was a Vicarey cottage called Tapps in the field with the 4Ways sewage works. Cob knocked down and foundations blown up. Got that from an old 4Ways resident who saw/heard it happen.

Something has always intrigued me about this gate. Have taken many photos of it, with its wall and Yew tree. For some reason I often imagine a Victorian lady walking out of it. Ghost ?

Loved the whole idea of the pig sheds, one per house, five at either end of Fourways. This one off donkey shed (according to John Heale) looks like it grew there rather than being built.
